Jillian + Jason
As soon as I met Jillian and Jason, I knew they were my kind of people! They dreamed of an intimate, summer rooftop party with their closest friends and family and I just had to make it happen for some of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
The hot Seattle sun shined throughout the Olympic Rooftop Pavilion atop Hotel Ballard. Goldenrod Floral, one of our favorites, installed a lush, green ceiling piece that contrasted perfectly against the cityscape backdrop! It was a busy Seafood Festival weekend, but the atmosphere brought a special charm to the neighborhood, which poured into the J+J's wedding day.
J+J kept it beautifully simple. Their close friend, John Aspinall, was a big part of their love story, so officiating their union made perfect sense. As they stood at the altar, their friend Maya Marie strummed a guitar and her powerhouse voice filled the room as she sang an original- Jillian's favorite song. Ballard was bustling, but in that moment we were all enamored by J+J and their friend beautifully commemorating their love.
Guests enjoyed a colorful hors d'oeuvres platter during cocktail hour along with boozy fruit punch and a selection of wines provided by Hotel Ballard's restaurant, Stoneburner. The family style dinner during reception was just as cozy! And as always, Honey Crumb Cake brought us the most delicious vegan and gluten free cakes to enjoy.
The dance party kicked off with Jillian's sibling, DJ Poppe, taking over for their incredibly talented friend, DJ Nate. I was so happy to see J+J get the dance party they wanted! At the end of the evening, though, was my favorite moment...Jillian and Jason began to slow dance with no music, but their friend Maya Marie ran over and sang At Last by Etta James. Absolutely magical. Jillian and Jason, I wish you a lifetime of happiness. May your love continue to flourish.
