Urvi + David

It was so much fun joy to help plan such a beautifully unique celebration that seamlessly wove together Indian, Mexican, and Western traditions for Urvi and David.

The wedding ceremony at Lewis and Clark College was a dream come true for the couple. We kicked off the ceremony with a traditional Baraat, where the groom made a grand entrance on horseback, leading a lively procession of guests. This was followed by a fusion ceremony that beautifully blended Indian traditionsβ€”such as the jai malas (garlands), pheras (circles), and satpadi (seven steps)β€”with Western elements. The couple chose to have a dear mentor officiate and personally crafted their vows, making the ceremony profoundly personal and touching.

Urvi and David embraced the opportunity to adapt traditional Indian vows to better reflect the couple’s values, creating a ceremony that was both authentic and uniquely theirs. The reception was a true highlight. The presence of Homer, their beloved dog, added a special touch. As guests sat for the ceremony, he greeted them with pets and kisses, followed by his playful heist of a Mexican cookie from the dessert bar, was a delightful moment captured perfectly by Amanda K.

As the night progressed, the atmosphere was electric, culminating in a surprise Mariachi band orchestrated by the groom’s parents. The band led everyone to the after-party location, adding a festive and unexpected twist to the evening.

Overall, the wedding was a magnificent celebration of love and culture. Witnessing the couple and their families come together to create such a meaningful and joyful event was truly fulfilling. The day was a perfect blend of tradition, personal touches, and pure celebration.

XOXO, Katy
