First Look
A wedding planning decision that needs to be made pretty early on is, do you want to have a first look? This will affect the timing of your day and the flow of events! Essentially, the first look is where the couple first sees each other (pre-ceremony) all dolled up. It’s typically staged a bit and gives the couple some quality time together before the festivities of the day get a bit crazy. There are so many benefits to having a first look rather than waiting to see each other for the first time as one walks down the aisle!
Hair/Makeup has just been done so everyone looks fresh and perfect! Also, the artist is likely still around so if tears cause some smudging, it can easily be fixed.
Who better to calm any pre-wedding nervous energy than the person you are about the marry? With a first look, you get your special moment but you also get time together to just talk and take it all in!
You will have more time for photos. It will be more relaxed and your wedding party will be more into it. If you wait until after the ceremony, photos are rushed and your family/wedding party will be anxious to get to the festivities!
Waiting to do your photos after the ceremony means you will likely miss your cocktail hour. So instead of mingling with your nearest and dearest, you will be out and about with your photographer.
The first look reaction photos are priceless!
