Nestled in the heart of Central Oregon, Black Butte Ranch provided the perfect backdrop for Meg and Rick's special day. With the majestic Cascade Mountains and a shimmering lake framing their ceremony, the day felt both intimate and grand, embodying the couple’s love story in every detail.

Meg and Rick's journey began on a sunny Seattle day in July 2018 at Safeco Field during a Mariners game. Meg was visiting from Portland with friends, while Rick attended with coworkers. Fate played its hand, placing Meg's seat directly in front of Rick's, allowing them to connect throughout the game as they cheered for the home team. Fueled by some liquid courage, Meg took the leap and turned to Rick at the end of the game, saying, “Hey, you’re cute.” That bold move sparked a romance that quickly blossomed. After months of navigating a long-distance relationship, Rick moved to Portland for work, and they soon settled into life together, welcoming a tiny kitten named Kora into their home.

In May 2021, they relocated to Seattle, where they added a smiley golden retriever named Benny to their growing family. The following February, while on a trip to Long Beach, Washington, Rick proposed on an empty coastline, asking Meg the question she had been waiting months to hear: "Will you marry me?" Their shared adventures set the stage for their beautiful wedding day.

As guests arrived at Black Butte Ranch, they were greeted by breathtaking views and crisp Autumn air. A charming touch included an old-fashioned rotary phone for guests to capture audio messages, allowing friends and family to share their love and well-wishes in a unique way. Guests were also treated to a champagne welcome as they found their seats. The outdoor ceremony showcased the serene lake and towering mountains, creating a picturesque setting for Meg and Rick’s heartfelt vows. Meg, radiant in her elegant gown, and Rick, dapper in his suit, exchanged personal vows that resonated with love and commitment.

The cocktail hour and reception that followed was a stunning celebration of love and togetherness. Guests enjoyed signature cocktails, passed hors d'oeuvres and a bountiful charcuterie board on the lodge deck. Each guest found their name on the escort card wall provided by Letters and Dust associated with table names, which are named after mountains from the Pacific NorthWest. As guests entered the Lodge, sunlight mixed with the peach and pink floral hues filled the space with warmth and joy. Vibrant centerpieces and colorful table settings were thoughtfully curated to reflect Meg and Rick’s personalities.

As the night progressed, the dance floor came alive with DJ Paradox spinning tunes that kept everyone moving. Meg and Rick’s first dance, framed by enchanting lights and surrounded by loved ones, was a highlight of the evening. Dinner was a Pacific Northwest buffet featuring salmon and a chef attended prime rib station. Meg and Rick cut an elegant two-tier wedding cake from Dream Cakes and also had an assortment of delicious mini desserts provided by Black Butte Ranch's pastry team.
