Kaitlyn + Mik
Planning Katilyn and Mik’s wine country wedding was a dream. Both Kaitlyn and Mik wanted to be involved in all of the details of planning and we had such fun with every bit of it! A picturesque winery in the Willamette Valley, close to Kaitlyn’s home set the tone for their elegant event, with delicious locally sourced fare and selected wines from the estate. Jewish traditions from Mik’s family were incorporated into their beautifully unconventional ceremony with Mik’s parents reading The Seven Blessings, and both Kaitlyn and Mik crushing a glass to loud cries of Mazel Tov!
For dinner, long banquet tables were draped with natural linen cloths, and floral tablescapes spread down the centers featuring grapewood and succulents alongside petite potted ferns, ranunculus, dahlias and herbs. A curtain of market lights formed the backdrop to Kaitlyn and Mik’s sweetheart table. There were plenty of memorable moments at Kaitlyn and Mik’s wedding. They had one of the most fun first dances I’ve ever seen to Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be”, and a fantastically energetic Horah with bride, groom and parents each tossed up in chairs (and narrowly avoiding collision with chandeliers!), all set against the backdrop of a dramatic wind and rain storm with gusts so great that we very nearly were not able to erect the rain plan tent! Fortunately we had a great team of vendors to set the tent and were even lucky enough to have a short break in the rain to permit an outdoor ceremony.
The less than perfect weather did not dampen spirits in the least. The guests danced the night away, enjoying themselves thoroughly. Congratulations, Katilyn and Mik! Here’s to weathering all storms together and enjoying all the many different kinds of days!
