Sonja + Shayan
Sonja and Shayan were a blast to work with! From the beginning, they knew what they wanted and kept the process fun and personal. Selecting Aurora Colony Vineyards as their venue, Sonja hoped to bring in some rustic yet glamorous pieces to the space. With everything from beautifully written chalkboard signage by Palomino to a cigar area with a very talented roller from Broadway Cigars, no detail was left unturned. The couple opted to get ready at The Nines Hotel and have their first look at Departure Lounge, which made perfect sense, since that was where they met.
Performed by Father Larry, the ceremony in the venue's amphitheater, was kept light and personal for all who were able to witness the couple’s nuptials on the beautiful day in August. Wine barrels, adorned with a variety of white hydrangeas, surrounded the couple as they said their vows in front of their family and friends. After the ceremony, guests made their way up to the top of the lawn where they enjoyed Aurora Colony’s wines and a variety of local Oregon beers.
Guests then found their seats by locating their very own jam jar, which the bride and her mother Jane had made themselves. Sonja found the most adorable flatware print paper runner online that we incorporated along with white linens, navy napkins, a variety wine bottles and dahlia blooms. Zest Floral created beautifully arranged centerpieces in shades of purples, blushes and whites that also adorned the guest tables. After dinner and cake, guests danced the night away under café lighting while also partaking in the cigar bar area---which was a huge hit! One for the books!
Sonja & Shayan- thank you for allowing me to be a part of such a special day in your lives. Jane- it still brings me to tears to look at the quilt you made for me and how much time and effort went into making it. I will forever be grateful. I wish you all the very best!!
