Celina + Carl

When I first met bride Celina, she told me she wanted the day to be super relaxed. I knew right then that we were going to get along great! I quickly came to realize Celina and Carl had some of THE coolest style around. To start, Celina, Carl, and family had a leisurely morning getting ready together at a hotel on the waterfront, where they decided to balk tradition (and nerves) and read their vows to each other in private.

After getting dressed in a killer green suit for Carl and a gorgeous two piece dress with a lace overlay top and stunning oversized bow in the back for Celina, they hopped in the most charming blue vintage car and cruised over to their venue! Just peep that floral headband by Brier and Ivy! Incorporated in the colorful red and orange blooms was the fabric head piece Celina’s mom had worn at her wedding - such an amazing detail! After some drinks and down time, they met family in the nearby park for photos then meandered back to the Laurelhurst Club for some pre-ceremony drinks with their guests. Friends and family could choose between champagne, mini Miller High Life bottles, and kombucha from Booze Trucks’ vespacarβ€”an absolute showstopper!!

The ceremony was a total family affair with parents, grandparents, and siblings all walking in together before the bride and her dad. Carl’s grandma Louise, our flower β€œgirl” who was also celebrating her 100th birthday later that month, led the way! Walking down the beautiful offset aisle lined with arrangements full of life and color, Celina met Carl at the front and were finally wed amongst all of their loved ones!

For cocktail hour, guests devoured some of the most delicious oysters they had ever tasted and midway through, Celina and Carl surprised guests by joining for their first dance together! Then it was dinner time - what our foodie bride was most excited about! Three long rows of wood tables were decorated with colorful mustard runners, florals of all colors, candles and fruit, blue patterned chargers, and fun menus designed and hand-lettered by the bride herself. An Italian family style feast was served up by Gumba, and a long and leisurely dinner eventually transitioned into spontaneous toasts from friends and family.

Instead of the traditional cake, Celina and Carl opted for a slew of delicious pies from Lauretta Jean’s Bakery. We all loved watching them slice into their salted honey pie and hilariously try to feed each other by hand. Another fun detail: Celina had hand embroidered oysters and pies on the matching table linens! Finally, the bride and her dad and the groom and his mom each enjoyed a sweet dance together, then guests were invited to join the dance floor and enjoy the rest of the relaxing summer evening! Celina and Carl, it was such an honor to be a part of your wedding day! The love you two have for each other is what life is all about, and I wish you everlasting happiness together!

XOXO, Emily
