Pantone Color of the Year 2017
Pantone, the color authority, releases a "color of the year" annually that reflects the cultural climate, and eventually influences design trends. This year, they have named "greenery" as the "it" color. A news release describes the color as “a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring,” and Pantone Institute CEO Leatrice Eiseman says the hue will “provide us with the hope we collectively yearn for amid a complex social and political landscape. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate, revitalize and unite…”
I tend to think of shades of green as a more neutral base to decor and floral arrangements when it comes to events. A shade that we have used more and more of in weddings the last few years. So, my initial take is the yellow-green hue doesn't feel like much of a ground-breaking trend to me. However, I do love the tone they have chosen and have no doubt we will continue to use it in our events. Click here to view some of the past colors of the year!
