Carly + Austin
Carly and her family spent many summers growing up at Black Butte Ranch, watching weddings happen on the lakeside lawn. When Austin popped the question, Black Butte Ranch and its newly built lodge was naturally at the top of places they had considered tying the knot. Knowing they had family coming from all over the nation, they decided to host their wedding on a Thursday to allow for an extended weekend of festivities.
On the day of the wedding, the rain stopped two hours prior to the ceremony just in time for the ground to dry, chairs to be wiped and florals to be installed. As the song "Ends of the Earth" by Lord Huron started the procession, clouds parted for the sun to shine right on the ceremony. It was truly what lakeside wedding dreams are made of.
The reception event design centered around a classic romantic vibe with lots of candles with eucalyptus branches, white, taupe and champagne roses. The family style head table allowed for their entire wedding party and dates to all sit at one table. With high vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows facing the cascade mountains, the decor really just complimented the natural views and light into the space.
Black Butte Ranch provided a beautifully seafood display along with passed hors d'oeuvres and beverages during cocktail hour on their expansive deck. Guests were able to sit around the built in fire pits throughout the evening. The buffet was set just outside of the room to maximize dancing space inside of the reception.
Priority number one was for guests to have fun throughout the night.... a conga line meandering through the reception space and a full out dance party with Carly and Austin hoisted up on chairs definitely showed that everyone was having an exceptionally great time.
