Newly engaged? Curious about wedding budgets? Look no further! Nora recently shared some easy ways to cut back costs on KPTV’s Good Day Oregon. Budget analysis is a very important part of wedding planning that brides and grooms should consider very early on in the process, and certainly before anyone is hired or decisions are made. This is just one of the many services that Bridal Bliss can assist with!

Ashley, Andrew and their families are the nicest people–very thoughtful, appreciative and creative! Ashley and Andrew hoped for a beautiful, vintage wedding and with the help of the scenery from Scholls Valley Lodge, and Natalia‘s coordination skills, they were able to do just that. The bride and her mom custom made all of the table numbers, banners/signs, and candy station. Scholls Valley Lodge is a beautiful and unique barn like setting with the ability to use the space in multiple different ways.
“guest bench” I love it!
Ashley and Andrew’s ceremony was held on a stunning lawn surrounded by huge trees. They said their vows under a custom made arch while guests cheered and waved custom made wands.
After the ceremony guests made their way to the lower lawn for cocktail hour but not before signing a wooden bench that acted as their guest book. During cocktail hour guests were also escorted to the speakeasy bar on the upper deck of the lodge where Ashley’s Dad provided specialty cocktails made with Pendleton Whiskey (where he is the VP).
For dinner guests indulged in a family style dinner and after went into a beautiful barn decorated with white draping and sparkling chandeliers.
Every year Pantone releases its color of the year, a hue that influences fashion, art and design for the following 12 months. Last year’s Radiant Orchid was one of my all time favorite tones (its in my wardrobe, my home, my own wedding…..) and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with another bold berry tone.

The color aficionados recently announced Marsala as their 2015 pick. In a company press release, Pantone described the color as “a naturally robust and earthy wine red.” While last year’s color of the year, Radiant Orchid, “encouraged creativity and innovation, Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.

“Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness. This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors,” Pantone announced.

While it seems that this color hasn’t been getting the best reviews, I have to say…I love it and have my fingers crossed that an upcoming client will let me get creative with it!
I came across a video today that is too funny not to share! This is what would happen if there were a role reversal between bridesmaids and groomsmen-enjoy the laugh!
Wedding show season is here and we are so lucky in Oregon to have a large variety of great shows. While the shows are super helpful they can also be a little overwhelming. So, here are a few tips to help you prepare for the show and make the most out of your time.
Bring a friend- it is important to bring a friend, bridesmaid, mom or someone who can help you navigate through the show. They will be a great soundboard and able to soak up information from vendors too. That being said…don’t bring too many friends or the different opinions can be overwhelming as well.
Take Notes- bring your phone or couple of pens and a pad of paper. Take notes about the various vendors you like. At the end of the day it can all seem like a blur, so your notes will be very helpful when going back through everything.
Collect- collect goodie bags, business cards and handouts from vendors that stick out to you. These will come in very handy and you will be able to cross-reference your notes (see above). The business cards and handouts will allow you to have important vendor’s contact information at your fingertips. Some vendors will offer bridal show specials so make sure to take anything they are passing out in the off chance you have some a little money. It is helpful to bring labels with your names, contact info and wedding date so you do not waste time filling out paperwork at different booths.
Photographers- talk with photographers as they get booked up quickly, so it is important to talk with them and take notes about who you like best. Ask questions about their communication, style, pricing. If you are sold on a certain company or person, don’t be afraid to book them at the show (with your planner’s blessing!).
Checkbook/Credit Cards- some vendors will accept deposits at bridal shows. If you end up loving a vendor and you are ready to book, do it.
I have to admit it…watching the Kardashians is my guilty pleasure. I love to hate them…especially when it comes to their over-the-top parties! I can’t wait to see what Kanye West’s ridiculousness brings to the table for the upcoming nuptials.

The Huffington Post is reporting that the E! Network will be filming and paying for the whole wedding (click here for the article). People Magazine is taking guesses at possible venues, one of which being Versailles (click here for the article)! I would DIE to see photos from a spectacular wedding in the Hall of Mirrors…easily one of my favorite places! What do you think?
Sparklers make for adorable wedding pictures. Whether you plan to use sparklers for pictures or as a send off, it is important to get the right type. Some brands of sparklers can give off too much smoke or only last for a couple of seconds which can make capturing the pictures very difficult. We have searched high and low for the best sparklers and have found them at Sparklers R Us. We recommend ordering the 20 inch gold sparkler wedding package for a send off and most pictures. If you wish to capture a certain design in your pictures or a long word, we may suggest going with the 36 inch sparkler. Depending on the size of your wedding you can order in increments of 50. http://www.sparklersrus.com/

This is always one of my favorite posts of the year…although I can’t believe 2013 is already over! I love taking some time after the madness of the holidays to sit back and reflect on the past year, while also planning goals for the year to come. 2013 was a doozie, to say the least. Personally, it was one of the best while also the scariest of my life. My husband, Tyler, and I welcomed our baby boy Gavin into the world in March. Unfortunately, he decided to make his appearance two months before he was due, so we spent a month with him getting bigger and stronger in the NICU.
Today, Gavin is 9 months old and that little three pounder I met is now more than five times his birth weight, happy and most importantly, healthy. The support from our family and friends was overwhelming and so appreciated. We are truly blessed.
Professionally, 2013 was our biggest and busiest year yet with more events than ever before, and the best team in our company’s history. From winning awards to being featured nationally, there is so much to be excited about. I may be biased but I truly believe that our Bridal Bliss Team is nothing short of spectacular. Each of these wonderful women bring something special to the table. In addition to their expertise, willingness to go above and beyond and creative spirit, these girls are FUN! They really stepped up their game this last season while I was out with Gavin, and the weddings they coordinated were stunners. We’ve celebrated our own weddings, births, engagements and kicking cancer’s butt this year and I’m so fortunate not only to work with these women, but also to call them my friends. My team members keep me humble and on my toes, and I am so very grateful.
2014 looks to be yet another busy year. We have never been so booked this early on and the couples we are working with could not be more darling. I’m excited to have recently connected with some new local wedding professionals offering unique services and it will be fun to incorporate them into our events. We will continue to take exceptional care of our clients and also support the vendors that have taken extra special care of us and our couples for the last 12 years. I look around at our local wedding community often and am always taken aback by the level of creativity, skill and quality that we have at our fingertips here in Portland. So many wonderful people to work with…and I’m lucky to call many my friends.
I’m so energized for the year to come, to watch my son grow, to take a few trips, to connect with friends/family and to work with some amazing clients. Thanks so much for your ongoing support, I wish YOU and yours a very happy and healthy 2014.
There is no better way to kick off a new year than by celebrating with all of your friends and family…and that is exactly what Mihael and Evan decided to do! This fab wedding took place at Sandbox Studio and definitely didn’t disappoint–take a peek!
I adore the simplicity of this cake!
There are so people in my life that I am incredibly thankful for today and everyday. From my family and friends to my rock star Bridal Bliss team, to all the wonderful wedding professionals that I have the pleasure of calling colleagues and friends. Most of all today, I am thankful for this little game-changer.
Wishing you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving and holiday season.
Your support means the world to me. Now go eat some pumpkin pie!
