Tuesday, February 26th, 2013

We were so thrilled to be a part of the second annual Rocked at the Nines bridal show sponsored by Portland Bride & Groom MagaziNE! While last year’s show was a blast, this year’s was even more of a smashing success.

Our area, appropriately named “Rocked with Style” came with this description…”Experience modern glam through a wedding styled with fashion forward patterns and shades of bold amethyst, chic lavender, and elegant silver.  Our fresh vibe is complete with a romantic ceremony, reception designed with an edge, sexy bar, over the top table settings and a trend setting ombre dessert display.”

Every other year, we throw a big New Year’s Eve party to benefit local charities. This year, we held the fab event at Bridgeport Brewery and our chosen charities were The American Cancer Society and Leve.  It was a huge success with lots of dancing, bubbly and a super fun group of people!

Pantone says to go green for 2013!

Tuesday, December 18th, 2012

Every December, a color of the year to come is named by Pantone…the authority on all things color related.  This year, the chosen color is Emerald Green.  They describe the color as ”Lively.  Radiant.  Lush… A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.”

I have to be honest, initially I wasn’t thrilled by this tone.  However…the more I look at it, the more I like it.  Emerald is a very flattering color (lucky bridesmaids!), and looks crisp and clean against whites, or rich and elegant with other jewel tones.  There is so much you can do with it, and it can certainly make a statement.

What do YOU think??  Do you remember what Pantone named as 2012′s color?  Click here to find out!

Getting Crafty With Geranium Lake!

Thursday, December 13th, 2012

Last week the gals at Geranium Lake Flowers treated us to a SUPER fun day at their shop assembling wreaths and sipping yummy cider.  Although not all of our team members could make it, those of us that did had such a great time getting crafty!

From an assortment of nuts, to ornaments to cinnamon to ribbon….we were setup with all kinds of fun supplies and hot glue to make it all come together.

Getting crafty!

How cute is sweet Aryana’s face poking out the side of her pack??

Thanks so much Kim, Natalie and everyone at Geranium Lake….we had a great time chatting and designing!  We love working with you!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday, November 22nd, 2012

Wishing you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving!  We have so much to celebrate and be thankful for this year–hope you are all spending the day with those you love most!

For a quick way to decorate and personalize your Thanksgiving table, grab your leftover mini-pumpkins (or pick some up from the store…they are still available!), and slice somewhat diagonally down the stem.  Cut out small cards out of basic paper stock, write out each guest’s name, slip them in the slice you created and voilà…cute place-cards and a darling holiday table!!

Did you know that these are also edible?  Stuff them with veggies, a starch, or even dessert for each guest!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Bridal Fashion Week–the parties!

Tuesday, November 6th, 2012

Every year, my mom (Anna, owner of Anna’s Bridal Boutique), head to New York for Bridal Market, which is fashion week for the wedding industry.  We always have the best time, and this year did not disappoint.  Look for a future post on fashion trends…this one is going to focus on the festivities!  We were able to attend two parties, one hosted by Martha Stewart at their headquarters, and another by The Knot held at The New York Public Library.  To say these soirees were over the top would be a huge understatement!! Take a peek–

Our evening started out at Martha Stewart.  The catering by Peter Callahan was to DIE for…. the hors d’ ouevres tasted as good as they looked!  One item I didn’t get a photo of was a small meatball with a tiny big of spaghetti on top—so stinkin’ cute.  Basically, there was a huge bar in the middle of the space, and the perimeter of the room had fun stations like henna art, photo booths, manicure stations, all white cheese and crudites, and so on.  They even had a couple that was married AT the party–Martha officiated!

Mini pizzas in bedazzled boxes.  SO cute.

Jello shots.

Crazy ice sculpture adorning the DJ table.

One of my favorite aspects of the party was our tour of the Martha Stewart offices.  Above is Darcy Miller’s (the editor) office.

This is a VERY small piece of Martha’s “prop room.”  They have hundreds of thousands of items from cake plates to forks to vases, to anything you could possibly imagine to accessorize a spread in this huge room.  It is all perfectly cataloged and organized…I was drooling.

Both events had all the big names of bridal in attendance.  I met celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss on our way out…made my night! (excuse the terrible photo…but I just HAD to share!)

We left the Martha Stewart event and headed to the library–The Knot put one a GREAT party!  From huge tufted open bars, to gelato stations to a band putting on one heck of a show, The Knot’s gala was certainly an event to remember.

Waiters served oysters in the half shell with all the fixings made right in front of you to your liking.  Genius idea!

My mom and I–such a great trip!

Rocked at The Nines

Thursday, September 13th, 2012

This past spring we were honored to be one of three wedding planning firms to spearhead Portland Bride & Groom Magazine’s wedding event, Rocked at The Nines.   I have been meaning to share these photos for MONTHS, sorry for the delay but I hope you enjoy them!

Each planner had a defined space that we were asked to style, and we named ours “High Style Glam.”  We really wanted to create something flirty, fashionable, unique and colorful.  I think we achieved that with our vivid fuchsias, lime greens, eye catching ikat prints, and new takes on seating both for the ceremony and reception.  We worked with Zest Floral Design, New & Blue , West Coast Event Productions and One Divine Party to create the gorgeous features in the space.  What do you think??

Ceremony area–so elegant.

Love these programs with a little envelope full of confetti for guests to toss!

The delectable desserts.

So cute you almost don’t want to eat them….almost.

The bar, dance floor and lounge area.

Our tablescape.  We LOVED the idea of incorporating both Ghost Chairs and comfy couches as seating.

Place Settings–I LOVE these menu cards.

A big thanks to Powers Studios for all the great detail shots!

Be sure to check back for details on how you can attend the next Rocked show!

In addition to Zest, New & Blue, One Divine Party and West Coast, the fabulous vendors featured in our room were:  Anna’s Bridal Boutique, Argyle Winery, Event Cosmetics, Fada Salon and Powers Studios.
