The holidays are prime time for engagements! In fact, over 33% of proposals happen between Thanksgiving and New Years. All of the inquiries I have received in the last few days definitely show me this statistic has some truth behind it.
Below is a segment from KPTV that aired last week with holiday proposal suggestions….better late than never!

This fall I had the pleasure of planning Abby & John’s wedding…a darling couple with equally amazing families. They were an absolute joy to work with and the wedding was a true representation of Abby & John’s fun personalities.
One of my favorite aspects of the wedding was a flash mob that the brides sister, Carly, had organized. She sent a video out to family and close friends who all took the time to learn the dance set to Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory.” The flash mobbers had instructions that when they heard a certain song come on (Footloose!) to head to the dance floor. Imagine Abby & John’s shock as they watched the people they love most dancing in unison and putting on a show at their wedding. Well…you don’t have to imagine because a friend caught it all on video (and its hilarious!!!)
The color orange seems to grow in popularity more and more. I love to use this tone in weddings and match it up with chocolates for a gorgeous fall palate, medium blues for a fresh springy look or whites to achieve a clean sophisticated appearance.

Apparently Pantone (the authority on color!) agreed with me and named 2012′s color of the year as “Tangerine Tango.” The tone is described as “sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive.”

Lauren Bush (niece of Former President George Bush) and her beau David Lauren (son of Ralph Lauren) were recently married in a unique western styled wedding in Colorado. With names of this caliber, you would expect a spectacular star-studded event! They did not disappoint, although the wedding seemed much more “down home” than it did “over the top glam” as might have been expected.
The couple was going for a ”rustic elegance” feel with a bit of whimsy which seemed to tie together beautifully at the event. My favorite elements were the attire (bridesmaids in cowboy boots and the bride’s Victorian hand embellished tulle gown) and the use of Queen Anne’s Lace & Gardenias in the decor of the 200 year old barn. All very delicate pieces that still fit in perfectly. Now if only I could have been there….
